Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a square; one angle up, the field divided vertically and bevelled purple and white, the purple part bearing a vertical white enamel quill and the white part bearing a vertical red sword point up all above a gold scroll inscribed "MILITARY CIVIL ACCORD" in purple letters.

Symbolism
Purple and white are the colors used for Civil Affairs. The tilted square represents the geographic boundaries of Washington, D.C., home area of the 300th Civil Affairs Group. The square also represents strength and solidarity and alludes to the adjective "square" for fairness and honesty, essential traits in the fulfillment of the Civil Affairs mission. The interlocking halves of the square further represent the dual but integrated military - civil role of the organization graphically represented by the sword and the quill.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 2 Mar 1971.
